Ventilation and quick emergency access are essential during fueling with passengers aboard. The main cabin boarding door is kept open to ensure a continuous flow of air through the cabin and to provide a readily available exit path for passengers and crew if needed. This helps dilute any fuel vapors and allows fast egress in an emergency.

The other doors are kept closed for safety and security reasons: the flight deck door remains closed and locked to protect the cockpit area, while galley and lavatory doors stay closed to limit airflow between compartments and reduce potential ignition sources or spread of vapors.
